How Professional Military Education Really Works! There were two groups of people waiting on the platform to catch the train. There were ten Air Force officers and another group of ten Air Force NCOs. The officers all had tickets, but had noticed the group of NCOs only had bought one ticket. Curious as to what the NCOs planned, the officers kept a watchful eye on them. A few minutes after boarding the train, the conductor came by to collect the tickets. While he was busy with other passengers, the group of NCOs got up and all jammed into one of the two small bathrooms in the car. The conductor came by, and noticing someone was in the bathroom, knocked on the door and said "tickets please." Whereupon, the NCO with the ticket slid it under the door. The conductor took it and went on about his rounds. When all was clear, the NCOs returned to their seats. This made a very positive impression on the group of officers who had closely watched the whole scheme unfold. They discussed the pros and cons and made up their minds to try the technique on their next trip. The very next day, the same two groups were again waiting for the train. This time the group of officers only bought one ticket. They noticed with surprise that the group of NCOs hadn't bought any! Puzzled by this move, they got on the train and watched the NCOs to see what they planned this time. Soon the conductor appeared again, asking for tickets. The group of officers got up and jammed into one of the small bathrooms. The NCOs headed for the other, and as they passed the bathroom with the officers, one stopped, knocked on the door and said "ticket please." He took the ticket handed him under the door and joined his comrades in the second bathroom! -- From: GreenawayJ@Tango-VS1.hanscom.af.mil From Mark Skosich@TNN, on 10/4/95 3:42 PM: From 2Lt Mark Skosich, TNN...
